TextMaster plan for, and subsequent redevelopment of the former barracks in Ballincollig, a ten-acre site that includes the historic Barrack Square. Completed buildings include offices, boutique retail, a restaurant, bar and parking garage.

Floor area
30,000 m² (322,800 ft²)

Site area
4 Ha (10 acres)

The project required a creative approach to the conservation and re-use of existing buildings while linking them to extensive new-build office accommodation. The completed development has retained the original Barracks Square as an open public space while knitting the old and new together in the surrounding urban fabric.

The existing barrack buildings date from 1806 to 1815 and are recorded in the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage. The project was designed with new elements as clearly contemporary additions and with existing buildings refurbished to retain their original character, externally and internally.
