Design of a development of 322 residential units comprising 242 apartments and 80 houses as part of a larger new residential neighbourhood on Dublin’s periphery.
Residential units: 322 Site area: 4.6 ha (11.3 acres)
Density: 70 dwellings / ha
Location: Cherrywood, Co. Dublin
Cherrywood will be a new development of town houses, terraces, semi-detached houses and apartment buildings arranged around a series of landscaped open spaces and pocket parks.
Building heights range from 2- to 3-storey houses to a maximum of 3- to 4-storey apartment buildings.
A central boulevard through the site will create a pedestrian boulevard free of traffic. A landscaped pedestrian parkway parallel to the Luas Green Line tram is proposed along the length of the north-eastern boundary, providing pedestrian access to the nearby tram stop and various points of entry into the development.
The architectural style of the development will be contemporary, with a restrained palette of brickwork, render, slate, aluminium windows and doors, simple black balcony railings and limited areas of zinc cladding. .
