A mix of living, work, culture, retail, hotel and community uses form a pedestrian-scaled city quarter

A new central square, designed in collaboration with Jan Gehl, will be a memorable urban space, in use by day and night

Smaller public spaces, landscaped to provide a variety of distinct environments, offer intimate sheltered areas for residents and workers

Surrounded by historic landmarks, the site required a sensitive approach and close negotiation with planning authorities

A range of building types, a high quality of amenity
Reddy A+U designed eight apartment buildings and two office buildings in the development

To ensure the diversity of styles typical of an urban quarter, Reddy A+U, with the client, invited other architects to design the remaining buildings and managed their contributions

Apartments enjoy a high standard of spatial design: dual aspect, optimum orientation, generous provision of storage and private open space, shared roof gardens.

Five universally-accessible apartments and live-work units are provided, flexibly designed for atelier or residential use

Affordable apartments are distributed throughout for a better social mix

A sustainable development
Largest biomass plant in Ireland, providing heating and hot water to apartments, with capacity to serve all uses

Office buildings incorporate triple-skin glazing and are achieving performance equivalent to BREEAM Excellent Sedum-planted roofs
