The conversion of an existing 17th century protected Georgian townhouse to office use, the addition of a new 5-storey office building to the rear and a 3-storey glazed atrium linking both parts. The project is accredited with LEED Gold standard.

Features

The building plot is deep but narrow, offering minimal street frontage to front and rear. The placement of a glazed atrium and courtyard bring light into the centre of the plan and internal voids distribute daylighting throughout the plan.

The atrium is the central orientating feature of the building, functionally linking old and new parts, while visually separating both to allow each part to express its distinctive character.

The new harmonised brick facades convey a calm and welcoming appearance through subtle textures. The generous full height windows respect the historical proportions of the existing building while further enhancing internal daylighting levels.
