Mongo DB Fitout, Dublin

Mongo DB commissioned Reddy A+U to fit out the 3rd floor of the Shelbourne Building in Ballsbridge. The tech company required an office space that required both scalability and flexibility which is the backbone of their tech as well as their philosophy. They also wanted the space to have a sense of fun and freedom to foster creativity and the development of new ideas.

Reddy A+U developed an activity-based layout for the space which will enable the Client to grow and expand overtime incorporating breathing spaces for events, games and work. The layout was designed to accommodate 60 workstations with flexible hot-desking arrangements, and 3 training rooms that could be combined for training and events. Additional quiet booths and focused task areas were developed with specific break out spaces adjacent the reception. This flexibility will allow the reception and canteen space combine to allow full company-wide gatherings.

Mongo DB wanted fun flexibility and branding to be a visual part of their fit-out space. Reddy A+U devised a custom joinery screen at the entrance with the company’s logo cut out of birch ply. This allows visual transparency, connection and ambience to permeate the space. Slanted doors, acoustic padding and accent colours as well as visually strong detailing further enhanced the playful nature of the space.

Materials and detailing incorporated some of the themes of Biophilic design bringing wood and nature into the scheme.
