Richard is an Associate & Healthcare specialist based in the Cork Office of Reddy Architecture + Urbanism. With +17 years of experience designing and delivering various clinical healthcare, large-scale commercial & residential buildings both in the UK and Ireland.
Before joining Reddy Architecture in 2003, Richard worked in London at the internationally renowned firm of Llewelyn Davies Yeang Architects, recognised then as the brand leader in healthcare, completing PFI healthcare projects and a number of Apart hotel, BAA Data units & innovative overseas schemes.
Since joining Reddy Architecture + Urbanism Richard has delivered a number of key hospital projects for the CUH & MUH in Cork; including being instrumental on the design of the ‘Award winning’ Cherry Orchard Child & Adolescent Mental Health facility in Dublin, recognised as one of the first physical manifestations of the Irish Health Service’s new ‘Vision for Change’ Mental Health programme.
Richard’s ability is to simplify the most complex of problems with the simplest of solutions, using excellent listening and communication tools to deliver the project on time and on budget. Richard has a special interest in the technology used to design and deliver hospital buildings, which he gained over the intense and highly competitive Irish economic down turn era.
At present Richard’s main drive is to design exceptional, special spaces that assist the ever changing world of clinical delivery, in a safe, non-institutional environment for patients and their families
