This project involved redevelopment of a confined urban site to replace existing out-dated sheltered housing. It was developed in two phases, completed in 2008 and 2014 respectively, to facilitate continuous occupation of the site and to reduce disruption for existing residents.
The buildings are arranged around a secure, internal, south-facing garden. Existing semi-mature trees were retained and supplemented with additional planting to maximise the amenity value of this external space.
Access to the facility is through controlled points to provide enhanced security and reassurance for residents.
