Adult Acute Mental Health Unit – Cork University Hospital

The AAMHU facility at Cork University Hospital was developed by the HSE to provide a new 50-bed acute mental health facility. The building is arranged around three landscaped courtyards that serve as secure, therapeutic, external spaces which complement the internal accommodation.

The project was developed as part of “A Vision for Change”, the national policy for Mental Health Services in Ireland. Reddy A+U acted in the role of Technical Adviser Architect. We developed the design from initial stages through to completion of statutory permissions (Planning, Fire & DAC) and through completion of the tender process. Thereafter we acted on behalf of the client in the Design & Build phase of the project.
