Dominick Street, Student Housing

Reddy A+U were asked to look at two sites on Dominick Street with a view to residential units. Following extensive design and development the proposal for 2 Student Housing developments were put forward and planning was received. As a result of this successful analysis Reddy A+U were able to facilitate a successful development for the client in an area that will benefit from the investment ideally located in the city.

Together with the new DIT campus nearby and the new tram line in this street, these complementary developments will add to the regeneration of Dominick Street Upper, providing for active ground floor usage that will animate the street.

The buildings will reinstate the historical building line to the street and are expressed in an architectural language sympathetic to their protected neighbours and the wider Georgian district. The design of the programme which includes ancillary facilities is a specialism that Reddy A+U were able to provide as one of the market leaders in the student housing sector. Cafe’s music rooms, games rooms as well as the social and study rooms allows for a vibrant student body to thrive and the provision of cycle stores and the vicinity of the tram means that there is minimal impact on the busy streetscape.
