Four Ferns Nursing Home

The Four Ferns Nursing Home is an innovative care home whose concept combines cutting-edge interior design with elegant architecture in a sylvan setting.

The three storey building is laid out in a series of radiating wings with central living and dining spaces overlooking gardens and woodland spaces. The building picks up the grain of the Foxrock Conservation Area. The building blends into its sylvan setting through the careful use of earthen tones in its materiality with buff bricks, pigmented renders and fibre cement wall claddings echoing the local slate roofs.

The quality of the architecture plays an important role in improving the health and well-being of residents by providing a multitude of different spaces for residents to enjoy.

This project is designed as the most ambitiously designed nursing home in Ireland built to date and providing an unrivalled standard of design for senior citizens
