Glenart College, Co. Wicklow
The project at Glenart College was instigated as a review into the options for the extension, refurbishment and or new build facilities for the 700 pupil school Campus in Arklow Co. Wicklow. Through extensive research and development with the complete design team and client the new build option was considered the most economical and advantageous option.
The design which has provided the college with modern quality facilities has been a major benefit to the town and the education of the wider area. The scheme delivered a campus that went beyond the initial brief by creating a sustainable working, teaching and learning environment. The students now have access to an inspiring place that fosters growth, development and well being in a truly public building.
The architecture of the college provided for a series of light filled spaces which allowed for different functions, sizes and provided the staff and management with robust and manageable facilities to a cost effective budget. The use of colour has helped the team deliver a series of definable spaces and locations which helps in wayfinding throughout the campus.
