Primary Care Centres – Technical Advisory Services, Ireland
Due to the extensive healthcare expertise in our healthcare team, RA+U were commissioned by the Health Services Executive (HSE) to support the major investment in fourteen new-build primary care centres throughout Ireland. Reddy A+U acted in the role of Technical Advisor Architect for all sites and additionally as Design Architect, to planning permission stage, for sites at Ballymote and Boyle.
The primary care centres were delivered in a mix of settings, in each of four HSE regions, from smaller scale regional towns through to those in Dublin City. Core primary care team services provided in each centre include GP and practice nurse, community nursing services, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and home help/support staff. Additional services vary by centre in a mix of dental, mental health, early intervention and doctor on call services.
As lead of the Technical Adviser team, Reddy A+U managed a very complex process of engagement with multiple design teams and regional client bodies. The work involved input in the initial stage and through to completion of planning applications and tender packages, and also with the successful PPP consortium, Prime-Balfour Beatty, through the subsequent construction stage.
