The Hubble, Dublin

The Client on the Hubble challenged Reddy A+U to redevelop an existing aging premise into a modern open plan office with the inclusion of additional space through a mezzanine level.

The concept developed to create a distinctive warehouse workspace suitable for a technology or creative company. The emphasis is on exposed structure and services with up-cycled materials including salvaged bricks, steel and timber.

The entrance area will contain a new lift and stairs. Open plan office space is located within the existing warehouse space at ground level and may be adapted to a variety of spaces including options for a café, breakout spaces, games or workshop. The proposed mezzanine area can accommodate open plan space, cellular offices or meeting spaces as required.

The works to the external envelope of the existing building include new vertical opaque glazing, a new sedum roof and improved thermal performance. The overall scheme is a flexible shell allowing the client to use and reuse the spaces depending on the flexible changes in work life requirements of the tenants.
