Toast, Inc. is a cloud-based restaurant management software company based in Boston, Massachusetts. The company provides an all-in-one point of sale system built on the Android operating system. Toast appointed Reddy Architecture and Urbanism to provide Interiors Architectural Services to re-imagine 2,318 sqm of office space at the previously Indeed occupied 2nd and 3rd Floors at 124-127 St Stephens Green Dublin 2.
The brief was divided into 2 parts, firstly to create an Activity Based Working Environment that would support the activities of the multidisciplinary Teams that would occupy this building. And secondly to create a space rich with brand cultural identity and imbued with company values. These values were manifested in a conceptual interiors scheme inspired by artisan ‘foodie’ culture, craftsmanship and the hospitality and principles associated with the restaurant industry that Toast Inc serves. It became extremely important to this brief to recognize the impact that remote and post-pandemic working style have impacted on office design and lowered the requirement for assigned desking and the need for a larger amount of hot desking, zoom rooms and collaboration and community spaces. What do staff need the office for now that they can do focused work from home became the overriding question that was asked of this scheme.
