Newmarket – Notification of Decision to Grant

Dublin City Council has issued a Notification of Decision to Grant Planning Permission for a number of our proposed buildings in the master plan for Newmarket Square in the Liberties area of Dublin.

The Council’s Local Area Plan and subsequent Reddy Architecture + Urbanism masterplan pro-vide a vision for Newmarket to be reborn as a distinctive city neighbourhood that will enhance the life of the area in economic, commercial and social terms, with improved linkages to the wider city.

The historical square will accommodate markets, events, performances and outdoor seating for its many cafés and restaurants. An indoor market will open to the square, along with shops, artisans’ workshops, a bar and micro brewery. A hotel, apartments and offices will facilitate an ‘18-hour’ daily cycle of activity and passive surveillance of the square.
