Project Delivery

Reddy A+U are fascinated by buildings and we pride ourselves in delivering on the promises made. We approach the Project Delivery of all buildings in the same rigorous way. Taking a project and understanding the key design features and ambitions is a skillset that allows us to curate great projects. We approach all projects with the same dedication whether these are designed by us or by others. All buildings and clients deserve the utmost design and care.

We work with a wide range of experts and we have learnt to take on board the inputs of all consultants and specialists. Understanding the balances and different constraints affecting a building allows us to find the right solution to each problem. We pride ourselves that the initial designs and delivered project speaks of the same language.

Project delivery is a discipline that allows us to realise all manner of projects. We look to each project and programme to learn of the various influences and constraints as well as the challenges and opportunities and look to schedule in the correct resource or specialist early enough to safeguard the project viability.

Our broad experience allows us to look outside the proverbial box and bring in alternative methods of construction or systems that often speed up processes and sign offs. We are flexible in our working methodology and go beyond the extra mile to make sure we fit into the necessary design and construction programmes. Alongside our rigorous Quality Assurance system we are able to deliver major projects with minimal challenges.

We pride ourselves on having a wide range of expertise in our offices offering the chance to have an expert available in almost every field. This broad knowledge of all design and construction matters covering almost every specialist sector gives Reddy A+U a valuable strength that brings client back to us time and time again.

The Cliffs of Moher

Specialist Architecture

The new visitor centre for UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Cliffs of Moher is located below ground to minimise visual impact and provide an enhanced experience for visitors. The project emerged following a winning entry in an international design competition in 1993. Opened in 2007, it has won Irish and International Awards.

Given the unique and sensitive nature of the site, the key design priority was that existing landscape and organic forms should take precedence over any building and any development to be located there should not compete with, nor distract from the natural attraction of the ‘Cliffs’ themselves. The project was developed on the concept of a subterranean building, taking its design and influences from the natural materials and forms of the area in order to minimise its impact and footprint in its visually prominent rural landscape setting.  The resultant building has no façades as such, with the exception of the south facing ‘elevation’, where only the entrance doorway and the organic forms of the upper restaurant windows are expressed. The pallet of materials, fittings and surface finishes used were carefully considered. The building structure was designed as a cast in-situ exposed concrete shell, in order to achieve the undulating organic forms fundamental to the design concept. The continuance of natural stone in floor and wall finishes from the exterior to the interior blurs the transition from inside to outside and helps to further integrate the building into the landscape.
