Cathal McNamara

Cathal studied architecture in UCD and obtained his professional diploma in architectural practice from TUD. He is a registered architect accredited in conservation at Grade 3 by the RIAI. He has extensive experience in the design, coordination and delivery of complex and diverse developments across Ireland.

Cathal has worked on significant projects across varying sectors, including multiple phases of the Glass Bottle development, Dún Brí, Cunningham House PBSA at Trinity Hall, the Extension to the Newman (Arts) Building at University College Dublin, masterplans for the Land Development Agency at Sandy Road, Galway and Pear Tree Crossing, Dublin, and multiple healthcare and conservation projects at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital. His experience spans all stages of project development, from feasibility and planning through detailed design, statutory approvals and construction delivery.

He has a particular interest in design quality and placemaking, ensuring that projects contribute positively to the built environment while meeting the functional, technical and commercial requirements of clients and stakeholders. Cathal works with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, public bodies and contractors to deliver resilient and attractive design solutions for both public and private sector clients.
