Oonagh Farrell

Associate Director, Architect

Oonagh is an Associate Director at Reddy Architecture + Urbanism. Since graduating from UCD School of Architecture she has worked as a project architect both in Ireland and the UK, primarily within the public sector on Residential, Masterplanning, Educational and Healthcare projects. As an RIAI Architect accredited in Conservation at Grade 3, Oonagh has expertise in the adaptive reuse of existing buildings and delivering sensitive interventions that will sit comfortably within or beside historic fabric.

Oonagh is responsible for several social impact projects in the practice which will foster sustainable growth, and create a lasting impact on society. These include the Sandy Quarter, a project for the LDA that will deliver approximately 650-750 cost-rental, social, and private homes as part of a sustainable, mixed-use green neighborhood just a 15-minute walk from Galway City Centre. She also worked on the development of 38 universally designed, energy-efficient homes for older adults as part of the Fold Housing develpment in Dublin 8. Additional projects include Kyrie Farm, which will create a unique healing environment for individuals facing mental health and well-being challenges, combining the benefits of nature, community participation, and therapy for up to 40 guests.

She believes that through socially conscious design, architects can harness their creativity and expertise to address pressing social issues and build stronger, more inclusive communities.
