The Story
Designed as a benchmark for future developments in Ireland, 8th Lock encourages the adoption of innovative construction methods and sustainable living features across the industry.

The Challenge
The amenity scheme focused on four primary blocks, each designed to offer flexible, practical spaces that would extend the functionality of residents’ homes and increase the development’s market appeal. From an operational perspective, the design emphasised functionality, low-maintenance solutions, and durable finishes, prioritising longevity and quality over aesthetic trends.

The Outcome
A total of 2,435 sqm of amenity space was designed across four blocks of the development, supporting modern living with a diverse mix of uses.

Project Team

Lisa Smyth is the Head of Interiors at Reddy Architecture + Urbanism. Since graduating in 1996 Lisa has worked as Interior Project Architect in Ireland and internationally on a wide range of projects including Office, Retail, Hospitality, Healthcare, Student Amenity and Accommodation and Residential Fit Outs.
