The Challenge
From the client’s perspective, a key challenge was reviewing multiple content packages from architects and consultants with varying styles and approaches. Part of our task was to streamline this process.
The Story
As part of a national program to expand primary care centre facilities, the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE) initiated a project to develop multiple centres as a bundle. With separate design teams typically working on two centres each, our role as the lead technical advisor (TA) architect was critical in ensuring all teams adhered to the client’s requirements and standards for their respective projects. Additionally, we were appointed to the design teams for the centres in Ballymote and Boyle.
The Outcome
We proactively collaborated with the client and design teams to establish clear parameters for the required deliverables at each stage and provided templates for reports and other documentation. This ensured that information submitted for review by the client and the TA team was consistently formatted and structured across all teams, allowing for a focused evaluation of the design proposals. Effective information management remained crucial throughout subsequent stages, including the tendering process with PPP consortia and the construction phase by the eventual winners.
