The Story

The interiors focus on inclusive social spaces which foster community gatherings as well as health and well-being. These spaces include private and shared dining spaces, café bar and lounge, outdoor BBQ spaces, herb gardens, gym, spa, sauna, wheelchair-accessible jacuzzi and cinema rooms, as well as co-working spaces , a pet wash and a dog walking arena.

The Challenge

The cosy urban aesthetic is enhanced by biophilic design elements, including tree-like columns, curved joinery, and natural materials and textures.

Floor-to-ceiling columns, which might typically fragment the space, have been reimagined. These columns flare toward the ceiling, echoing traditional mushroom forms while incorporating materials tailored to each setting. In the café, reflective bronze cladding enlivens the sculpted uprights; in the gym, raw concrete reinforces a sense of strength and resilience; and in the co-working space, light oak fosters a tranquil atmosphere, promoting focus and productivity.

The Outcome

The design balances an urban aesthetic with durability and warmth. Robust materials like concrete floors, high-pressure laminates, stone, and tiles were paired with biophilic elements such as textured fabrics, canopy-inspired motifs, and abundant planting, resulting in a future-proof, humancentric environment with a certification of BREAAM Excellent.
