Cooldown Commons, Citywest

Cooldown Commons is phase 3 of a residential development located on an urban greenfield site in Citywest, Dublin 24. Adjacent to the Fortunestown LUAS stop and near Citywest Shopping Centre, the scheme delivers 405 build-to-sell apartments across six blocks.

The Challenge
The project needed to balance high-density living with quality design, sustainability, and integration into the existing urban and ecological context. It also had to complement the earlier phases while enhancing public amenities and connectivity.

The Outcome
Phase 3 introduces adaptable, low-carbon apartment layouts and vibrant community spaces. These include a south-facing public plaza with retail, café, and office units, a residents' park. Soft landscaping and biodiversity corridors connect private and public open spaces, promoting ecological integration and resident wellbeing.
