Radisson Hotel Interiors

An extension of the existing hotel on Ship Street was a collaboration with Creaven Engineering and formed part of Reddy A+U’s urban quarter masterplan for this historic area of Dublin city centre.

The Challenge

Having previously completed the design and build for the original 150-room hotel in 2007, Reddy was tasked with providing a new 6-floor extension for the building. The new extension was to accommodate an additional 84 bedrooms along with a new spa facility and retail units that would face onto a new courtyard.

The Story

This re-development was the first of two phases planned for the site, which also houses the Royal Dublin Convention Centre. Additional rooms for the new extension included a luxurious two-bedroom presidential suite, featuring an outdoor hot tub and fire pit. Additional upgrades included a new concept bar and restaurant to complement the existing Chancery Grill and The Dyflin Bar. The hotel spa was designed over three floors and features five treatment rooms and a dedicated medi-room for advanced skin care treatments. Therapeutic areas such as a thermal steam room, vitality pool and sauna were also provided in the scheme.

The Outcome

A stylish upgrade for a luxury hotel in a prime city centre location. Situated within the existing city block, The Radisson hotel and its extension creates a pathway through a new square, connecting Dublin Castle to the Liberties.
